collection of more forms before firing

video of forms

Instead of constantly uploading picture i thought it'd be easier to have a video collection of my forms

Form development continued

tues continued

i continued my form making based on the cylindrical folding form , varying and experimenting with thickness, form, shape, and scale.

Throwing

We started off Tuesday morning with a demonstration of throwing. It was a lot more difficult than Elain made it look. However through much trial and error i managed to make a semi perfect and lumpy bowl :)
For me the elongating of the sides with an even distribution proved most difficult for  me as it was my first time and my over sized hands set me at a handi-cap with the minuscule piece of clay we were using.

The clay we used was hard clay put through a machine to make pugs, here the air was taken out of the clay using rotating machines inside.

new turn for things

before the day ended , elain showed my the forms of shizue kato , a talented and inspirational ceramicist
this mixed with the work of karen morgan became the basis for my next few pieces

Avideo of what my new forms will be based on , created from a rectangular piece of cut and rolled clay , joined together and then slapped at an angle to create a wave like pattern/form
