an example of some type i worked on

illustrators

Looking at artist and illustrator Frank Stockton. i've been captured by his sequential illustrations and concept drawings.

The most closely related illustration to my word would be 'cliff''. Stockton was given the task by Zeit magazine of illustrating contemporary furniture in unusual natural scenes. HE replaced thier natural environment with a natural environment

Concept Time - VisCOM

For my first concept i'm thinking of making a battery powered leg , where a large car like battery replaces the calve muscles , it may be too similar to the million dollar man or even iron man?
So i'm thinking more or a hybrid that gets slotted into the leg, where the top of the piece is the positive end of a common double A lithium battery. The base will look like a normal leg , toes, foot, ankle, shin, calve, hair, etc ... between the leg base and the battery head i am thinking of having a preferated edge, or even a srewed edge, like the end of a lightbulb or the top of a bottle.

i don't want my pice to look like this but it's hilarious and makes me laugh so i'll aspire to make something this amzing ... someday !!!
i may even resort to a more machine like version but i'll see how the concept works first :)

I also am thinking of making a personal twist on the CFL bulb with a replaced top on the piece... the replacement will have to be an item you replace everyday, like toiletries or a pencil :)

Vis Com - Replace

Applying the SCAMPER method to my word REPLACE ..

  • S - Substitute
  • C- Combine
  • A - Adapt
  • M - Modify or magnify
  • P - Put to other uses
  • E - Eliminate or minimize
  • R - Rearrange or reverse
Coming up with some pretty funny concepts at the moment, delighted !!
Looking at illustrators scuh as
Mark hyde (above left) with his 'hip-replacement' illustration for an injection of comedy. As well as Nacho Diaz's (above right) who has clearly replaced any innocence i may have had concerning the muppets with a filthy innuendo filled mentality towards poor kermit ... though that is the slutty one night stand life he chose ... poor guy could never KER-MIT.

Pixel pancho, an excellent graffiti artist who have satiracly replaced everyday bandelised characters with robotic figures who still preform the menial everday tasks they are assigned ... with a kind of terminator esq spin to them, were they not terrifying enough as they originally were ??  Yet oh so seductive ;)

looking at such photoshop tutorials as replacing hair with water , this is only the start of the editing plans, i've also researched creaking smoke, editing pictures into custom shapes, etc...
