sequential creating

Choosing the snail like forms for my next part , i thought to myself how would this/these piece(s) change or mutate if they were elongated or stretched ... or even cut into segments ?

with this in mind i rolled one of the snails out into a long flat smooth length and then coiled that together to form my segmented piece .. as i thought a plain cut segment may look slightly unappealing to the eye !

this progressed to larger segments playing with their shape and thickness as well as viewpoints

in a more minimalistic fashion i tested out how i could create the spiral coil without using so much clay

braiding the clay also factored in to this experiment

never happy with a piece how it is , i cut the braided clay into segments of equal length  and used them to create a new piece

however i then took this new piece and used it to create another .. a more textured version of the loop

i then cut this up tp form different letters

i also played around with slapping the clay and elongating it
